5.0 out of 5 stars Mizuno MVP Prime GXS53, June 11, 2011

I've had this glove for 1 month now. I use it to catch for my 2 daughters. Their pitching has been getting faster and faster and my 20 yr old fielders glove was making me nervous that the webbing was going to blow out and I'd be eating one shortly. This glove has been great so far. It has broken in nicely without a lot of effort. I feel much more comfortable catching for them now. My girls really like the glove as well as when they pitch a nice fast ball and it hits square in the pocket, it generates a loud pop. Instant feedback they threw a good pitch!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great glove for players and coaches, March 21, 2012

This review is from: Mizuno MVP Prime GXS53 Fastpitch Catcher's Mitt (34-Inch) (Sports)
I'm a high school softball coach and had been looking for a good glove at a reasonable price. I wasn't looking for anything that would be over the $100 mark, but something that could hold up just as well without having to be used on a daily basis. I really wanted it just to help with drills and warm up my pitchers while my catchers were gearing up. Thus far, it's been a great glove for me and my catchers. All four of my catchers use Mizuno gloves (two have the Franchise Pro GXS92 and the other two have this one). For some reason or another, this one tends to hold up better than the Franchise Pro model. I've noticed with this glove the padding stays nice for a long time while the Franchise model tends to have the padding move out of place after a while. My two catcher with the Franchise model have been complaining about their thumbs hurting, so I inspected their gloves and found that their thumbs were actually be pushed into the palm and pocket of the glove because the padding had... 5.0 out of 5 stars high quality specialized mitt, April 29, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
After searching the ads and researching the differences between the mitts, trying to understand what the features were and why the prices were different, I selected this mitt as being above the entry level quality level, and just above the cutoff to get a full leather, well padded, well designed, good looking quality mitt. I don't like to spend more than necessary, or buy gold plated items, and I have learned that paying too much attention to price sometimes you miss some important features. That middle price item is often the best value. This seems to fit that. My daughter was, and still is, absolutely thrilled with the mitt.
