1.0 out of 5 stars nice book, crummy gear, January 23, 2010
This review is from: Chronicle Books - The Complete Fly-Tying Kit
The book has nice pictures and reasonably clear text and instructions. However the gear is total garbage. The vise wobbles and doesn't hold hooks particularly well. The bobbin actually has a sharp burrs on the inner edge rather than a proper smooth surface. It also is made of a rolled tube rather than extruded pipe so it catches and breaks he thread. JUNK! The hackle pliers stick and tear feathers. I returned it immediately. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Buy your equipment from a proper fishing store or web site.
