This game is truly a lot of fun. There are little quests to complete, secrets, and the use of the stylus adds a nice aspect to a game about magic...

That being said, I want to focus on the packaging for a moment. You can read more thorough reviews on the game in other posts, but I wanted to express my concerns about how this game comes packaged.

If you are a collector, this is definitely worth buying. The stylus is cute, the mini Harry Potter lego figure is great. Beyond that, there are a few concerns about this package that you should be aware of, especially if you are buying this game for a younger child.

- The Stylus, while cute, does not fit into the DS itself. This is true for many of the "collector's" type styli, and is not a huge concern but it is worth mentioning.

- The mini Lego figure could definitely be a choking hazard, but that is sort of a given. It can be attached to the top of the stylus for added fun.

This is absolute, splendid fun. It is amazing to explore the places that I've only seen in the films. I've played some Harry Potter games on the Playstation before, but this is by far the best version. The kids, their dad, and I are all completely addicted. I would have to say the best feature is: Being able to use the stylus to cast spells. On the PS, I was horrible at aiming, jumping and avoiding falling into pits, etc. The stylus control is so precise, that it's practically impossible to fall off any jumped-to surface, and nearly impossible to miss your target when spell-casting as well. You simply start with the stylus near your character, and quickly swipe it toward the enemy. It's that simple. Usually (we're only on year 1 so far), one swipe/cast will crumple your enemy into tiny blocks.

The crumbling blocks is another excellent feature. We have never played Lego video games before. I absolutely love not being able to die. And I think it's great for children, as well... Read more

My five year old niece was so excited to recieve this, but for the first two weeks, she was very cofused on how to get to the next stage. I didn't know what to do myself, and felt bad. Her mom kept telling her, you'll figure it out... She finally advances to the next few levels, but isn't exciting for her anymore. She would rather play CAts VS. Dog's. I think her age was a factor in her experience with Harry Potter. I tried the game a little, and it takes your thinking cap to continue to the next stage. The game is okay. Just make sure your child has problem solving skills, and don't expect it to be as exciting as the movies.
